Oct. 4 is World Card Making Day

On Saturday, October 4th, artists and crafters from all over the world will set their creative juices flowing to observe the second annual World Card Making Day. Started by Paper Crafts magazine, this event is held the first Saturday in October. Scrapbooking stores and craft stores everywhere are offering special activities, "Make and Takes", contests, challenges and get togethers. Undoubtedly those who cannot get to a craft store on Oct, 4 will be busy at home creating a hand made card to display or to send. Hand made cards can be a simple creation made with card stock, paper and stickers, or they can be as complex as the artist wants to make them. Many are lovingly made and resplendent with embossing, stamping, paper flowers, ribbons, lace, metal embellishments and other trims. Whether your style is cute and trendy, elegant and sentimental or shabby chic, a hand made card is sure to please in a way that a "store bought" item can never match.
