Busting Loose from the Money Game by Robert Scheinfeld (2006) promises to offer "mind blowing strategies for changing the rules of a game you can't win." This is not your typical book on investing, saving or budgeting. Instead, it offers a spiritual or metaphysical approach to making money and attracting unlimited abundance. The concept behind the book is an unusual one. Scheinfeld proposes that the universe and everything in it is a holograph, similar to the "holodeck" from the Star Trek TV show. He says that nothing is real except our inner spirit, which he calls Expanded Self. Expanded Self creates our persona and everything we encounter, using the power of our emotions to determine what to create. By reclaiming our spiritual power that is tied up in financial happenings and institutions, including stocks, bank accounts, credit cards, debts, bills, mortgages and so forth, we can bust loose from the money game and live a life of abundance. The author claims that practices such as meditation, visualization, positive thinking and affirmations are only partially successful in attracting abundance, because they do little or nothing to reclaim the power. Scheinfeld provides tools and offers a procedure for reclaiming this power, thereby freeing it up to create a different illusion in the holograph. Busting Loose from the Money Game is an interesting and readable book. Followers of The Secret, the writings of Abraham and similar publications will find in this book a new tool to use in their spiritual and financial growth. Others will consider it absurd. |
