Attending Adam (Dreamhealer) Workshop
By June Campbell of Nightcats Multimedia Productions
Attending a workshop with Adam (Dreamhealer) is an experience that isn't soon forgotten. I had this experience yesterday, along with more than 500 other people from many areas of the world. Adam, author of the Dreamhealer books, has the ability to heal physical conditions by working with subtle energies. Only 22 years of age and a fourth year molecular biology student at the University of British Columbia, Adam discovered his gift at age 15. At that time, he healed his mother of painful trigeminal neuralgia, a symptom of MS. Later, he healed her of a brain tumor. Medical tests verify that she has now been symptom free for about seven years. Adam's other success stories include healing rock star Ronnie Hawkins of pancreatic cancer -- plus many, many more. His web site has the testimonials of many appreciative people. I first heard about Adam when he was the focus of a local TV news story. Since I dabble in energy healing myself, I decided to attend his workshop one day. Yesterday was that day. Speaking to a packed room (the event sold out, as always), Adam explained his work and showed us the science behind energy healing. Yes, its controversial to say it's science, but as Adam points out, many of the greatest scientific breakthroughs of our history were greeted with jeers and skepticism. For example, in 1847, Dr. Ignaz Semmelweiss suggested that surgeons wash their hands and equipment between surgeries to cut down on infections. He ultimately lost his medical practice for such a bizarre idea. Within this six hour workshop (counting lunch break), Adam did two "treatments." During a treatment, all participants closed their eyes and visualized expanding their energy field (aura). When our aura was fully expanded, we then visualized connecting our auras with the auras of the people sitting around us. Finally, we visualized having a birdseye view of the room and seeing everyone's auras joined together in a circle of light. At that point, while Adam worked with the massive energy field in the room, we focused on sending healing energies to the health condition that had brought us there, or to someone else who was experiencing illness. During the first treatment, I felt my body jerk spontaneously three or four times. I also felt a tingling sensation throughout my body. Afterward, other people reported a number of different sensations, including the need to cough, a feeling of warming, an itchy feeling on the skin and other sensations. At lunch break, I spoke with a young woman who had experienced a cough and hoarseness during the treatment. She was still having difficulty speaking. At the end of this session, most of the participants, including myself, could see the energy emanating from our hands and from Adam's body. It appeared to me as a fine vapor or mist. Adam provides two treatments to "jump start" the participants' healing, but his main focus is teaching people how to continue healing themselves by manipulating the body's subtle energies. He encourages everyone to use energy healing along with whatever medical treatments they are undergoing. In the second treatment, held later in the day, I experienced no particular sensations but I became keenly aware of the woman sitting next to me. I sensed a distress coming from her, and I focused on sending healing energy to her instead of to myself. I enjoy good health, except for a few minor things, so I had no real need to focus on my own healing. I know the skeptics will ask if I healed anything because of Adam's workshop yesterday. I can only say, "I don't know". I was in good health to start. I attended out of curiosity to see what Adam was all about. However, I was utterly exhausted after the second treatment, and today, 24 hours later, I am still feeling tired. I enjoyed the workshop, and I was impressed with Adam's gentle, respectful approach and with his family members who were present and helping with the workshop. I would go again. I plan on utilizing the energy self-healing methods we were shown. Energy work may be considered "cutting edge" in western civilizations, but Eastern countries and Aboriginal cultures have practiced it for centuries. There is nothing new under the sun -- just old concepts presented in different ways.
